Artifacts from Borneo
The Dayak is a collective term for the indigenous peoples of the interior of Borneo, comprising groups such as the Iban, Kayan, Kenyah and Ngaju, each with distinct languages and carving traditions.
This section includes carved wooden figures, among them hampatong ancestor posts, masks, and other items. Attributions to a specific group are given where they are documented; where they are not, the piece is listed simply as Dayak.
