$0.00
Traditional Timorese metal ornament, worn on the forehead, originally part of a headdress. In ancient times, this type of ornament was part of the attire of the valiant Meo warriors, a status achieved only by the most courageous fighters. After the end of conflicts between kingdoms, these ornaments were worn only during ritual ceremonies. The object shows a coloration between silver and bronze, likely a mix of different metals, with some blackish patches possibly resulting from oxidation. The design, depicting a pair of horns and the central boss representing a breast, symbolizes abundance and prosperity, which was invoked during the rituals.
It comes with stand.
